Brian Ecclefield

Founder/Managing Director

Brian Ecclefield has spent the last 16 years custom developing in vivo clinical studies to help international brands establish their personal care and cosmetic claims. In 2018 he founded Validated Claim Support and hand selected a team of the best clinical and quality personnel the industry had to offer. Validated Claim Support was created out of necessity as an alternative to the “CRO Status Quo,” offering an ethical, transparent, and technologically secured solution for the modern skincare manufacturer.

Brian has also been volunteering with the NYSCC for over 9 years through various special events and activities.

Brian helped to develop and implement VCS’ initial Quality Management System focusing on a combination of GCP, GMP, and GLP hybrid principles. Validated Claim Support was the first lab in the consumer product testing space to offer cashless panelist payout, automated IRS reporting and HIPAA compliant database solutions along-side multi-factor blockchain based security for confidential data integrity and retention. Brian sought to improve upon the various shortcomings that he uncovered during his formative years working throughout the industry, and it will be his life’s work to continuously improve the personal care industry by making it a safer, more ethical place, one clinical study at a time.

Brian has also helped to develop a hybrid GMP/FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, and HIPPA compliant Quality System with traceable and auditable clinical data. No two products are alike, and Brian believes that no two studies should be either.

By helping clients understand more about the many different ways that claims can be supported, Brian hopes to make the industry as a whole more knowledgeable about the best practices behind clinical research. He believes this will simultaneously lead to both better products and safer consumers in the long run.

Jane Tervooren

Co-Founder/Director

Jane has set up and launched multiple research testing sites in the US and Canada from start to finish, acting in roles including Site Director, Director of Business Development and Director of Client Services. With a diverse client portfolio of specialty skincare brands around the globe, Jane ensures that sponsors’ needs are met by working directly with the clinical team and recruitment department to develop custom protocols.

Jane’s personal favorite types of study designs are those geared toward proving the efficacy of specialty skin care and cosmetic products that involve a combination of Validated Clinical Photography, Biophysical Instrumentation, Expert Grading and Consumer Perception. She enjoys working with both multinational corporations and small indie brands alike and prides herself on providing the highest level of service in the industry, always striving to give consumers a reason to believe in the products that are being tested.

Stephanie Van Hollemeersch

Senior Quality Manager

Stephanie has an extensive Quality Management Background and has spent her career working for a variety of different businesses. She has helped to develop, maintain, and manage ISO 9001 level QMS documentation, has extensive experience with internal audits and compliance insurance, and has a developed knowledge of international regulatory standards and requirements.

She also has experience leading a team and developing company wide improvements from external qualified customer feedback.

Stephanie performs continuous action plan reviews and is a valued asset in our staff training and new team member onboarding processes as well.

Lee Weber

Quality Manager

Lee brings near a decade of experience in quality assurance and regulatory compliance within the cosmetic industry. He has excelled in developing and managing ISO 9001 QMS documentation, conducting internal and external audits, and handling global regulatory inquiries. Lee is adept at managing quality complaints, investigations, and corrective actions, as well as driving continuous improvement of systems and processes. Known for his expertise in training and onboarding, Lee consistently drives company-wide improvements and ensures compliance with international standards, making him an invaluable asset to the organization.

Dr. Marc Glashofer, MD

Consulting Dermatologist/Principal investigator

Dr. Glashofer is a Board-Certified Dermatologist with 20 years of clinical research experience. He is extensively published, and currently serves as a part of the AAD (Skin Knowledge and Information Network) Faculty.

Dr. Glashofer is an industry expert and currently serves as a consultant with Eli Lilly and Repairogen Inc, among others. In private practice at The Dermatology Group in West Orange New Jersey, Dr. Glashofer specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, General, and Cosmetic Dermatology.

Anna Hardy

Clinical Research Manager

Anna has been working in the clinical skincare space for over 16 years as a clinical manager and technician, and she has helped hundreds of products successfully differentiate and document their efficacy during that time. She also has experience with Phase II and Phase III Pharmaceutical Research.

Anna plans and oversees daily clinical activities, study conduct, timelines and supervision of clinical staff, and is responsible for the development of study documents (CRFs) and Investigator/Physician scheduling and protocol design.

Ana Duval Diaz

Clinical Office Manager

Ana Duval Diaz, with a rich professional background spanning two decades in managing medical practices in New Jersey, is now carving a niche for herself in the state’s fiercely competitive cosmetic industry.

Renowned for her innovative strategies and esteemed reputation, Ana’s business ethics are deeply rooted in communication, dedication, and transparency.

These core values have not only fueled her success as a clinical office manager but are also steering her towards achieving statewide acclaim in sales and relationship management within the cosmetic industry, with an ambitious goal of tripling her current panelist participation.

James VanZetta

Clinical Photography Director

James brings to the table over 16 years of experience as a clinical photographer and a lifetime of experience behind the lens. He has custom developed our Validated Clinical Photography Technique and secondary analysis through painstaking dedication and experimentation.

James has helped launch hundreds of products around the world, many ending up on QVC/HSN. He has set up multiple custom studios for sponsors and third party laboratories onsite, and collaborated with multinational brands of all sizes.

James has extensive experience working with third party camera systems such as Canfield and Newtone, and he provides a very unique perspective on study conduct that can’t be matched anywhere in the industry.

Luis Ferrá

Clinical and Marketing Photographer

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, photographer Luis Ferrá started his career in 2009 in his hometown. With dreams and ambitions he moved to Los Angeles in 2017 for five years excelling in his career and making lifelong goals a reality which reflects on his portfolio. Now in 2023 he resides in New Jersey where he looks for more inspiration and growth in the east coast. While his two passions have led him to be well known for his Skateboarding Photography, Luis also has a vast experience in other areas of photography and video as well, such as Portraits, Studio Photography, Product Shots, Lifestyle, Live Events, Concerts, Music Videos, Interviews, Drone Piloting and Editing.

Alongside with commercial photoshoots for clients such as Diamond Supply Co, Genius Media Group, Thrasher Magazine, Street League Skateboarding, Dew Tour, Primitive Skateboards, Fallen Footwear, Disorder Skateboards, The Broadway Show and many more, has led him to document the world’s best skateboarders alongside the most famous celebrities and artists.

Luis’s is now adding his vast talents to VCS assisting with Clinical Photography and putting his own unique spin on professional Before and After Imaging.

Dr. David A. Wrone

Consulting Dermatologist/Principal Investigator

Dr. Wrone is a Board Certified Dermatologist with 20 years Principal Investigator and clinical research experience.

He is extensively published, and has conducted and researched many novel surgical and topical treatments. He acts as a medical Principal Investigator when requested by sponsors, and his background and work ethic are a perfect match for Validated Claim Support.

Tam Lamarre is a Registered Nurse licensed in NY, NJ and FL, with extensive experience in Dermatology, Medical Aesthetic Devices and Cosmetic Injectables. Skilled in areas of Health Sciences and Medical Terminology. She is also the founder of Soul Medica Spa in Lawrence Township, New Jersey.

Tam is Course Delegate of the Academy for Injection Anatomy by American Medical Spa- Cadaver Lab and on the Galderma Advisory Board for the study and development of new products.Her Certifications include:

Katima McCullough

Consulting Phlebotomist

Ms. McCullough is Licensed Phlebotomist with 20 years of clinical research experience.

She has her own phlebotomy practice in Englewood, NJ and assists VCS with a wide variety of clinical studies which require blood draws, urine samples and taking vital signs.

Ms. McCullough also provides phlebotomy services to different types of medical specialty practices in the area, and we are pleased to have her as a valuable member of our team.

Dr. Anita Saha, MD FACOG

Consulting Gynecologist/Principal invesetigator

Dr. Anita Saha is a Board-Certified Gynecologist with over 20 years of clinical research experience.

She is extensively published, and currently serves as a Diplomat on the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Saha is in private practice and on the staff at Penn Medicine, Princeton Medical Center.

Dr. Saha regularly serves as a consultant for the many Feminine Care Clinical Studies run at VCS including Safety-In-Use, and we are honored to have her as an expert member of our team.

Dr. Ritchard Rosen

Consulting Podiatrist/Principal Investigator

Dr. Ritchard Rosen is a board-certified Podiatrist with over 35 years of experience in Podiatric Surgery. He is widely published and respected for his work in reconstructive and prophylactic Surgery of the diabetic foot.

Dr Rosen has several University appointments including at The Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine and is the Attending Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.

His private practice is located in the same corporate complex as VCS which makes his ability to participate on site easy to coordinate. Dr. Rosen serves on a variety of foot related studies run at VCS as Principal Investigator or Clinical Grader.

Dr. Lucia Caruana, MD, FAAP

Consulting Pediatrician/Principal Investigator

Dr. Caruana is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with 20 years of clinical research experience.

She is the recipient of many awards and was listed as a New Jersey “Top Doc” in 2018 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Caruana is in private practice in Tenafly, NJ and has staff privileges at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and The Valley Hospital.

She consults on a wide variety of general pediatric studies run at VCS including Safety-In-Use, and we are pleased to have her as a valuable member of our team.

Dr. Alyson Yashar, MD

Consulting Ophthalmologist/Principal Investigator

Dr. Yashar is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist with 25 years of clinical research experience.

She lectures extensively, is widely published, and is in private practice in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
